International Women’s Day Celebrations - ‘Inspire 2024’

This year’s IWD celebration was organised by the
lady vets from all over Kerala at Pagoda resorts Alappuzha
on March 8. Inaugural ceremony was blessed by the presence of
eminent personalities. Welcome dance by Alappuzha
lady Vets- Dr. Rekha Sagar , Dr. Sanuja, Dr. Madhuri,
Dr. Archana and Dr. Chithra- was really refreshing.
Dr. R. Usha, KGVOA State Vice-President chaired the
function. State Joint Secretary Dr. Vandana C G welcomed
the guests. Adv. U Prathibha, Hon.MLA, Kayamkulam
inaugurated the event and delivered an inspiring
speech on the occasion. In spite of being a powerful
politician, she proved herself to be a successful motivational
speaker as well. Her mind blowing words were
coherent. Chief Guest of the Day, Dr. Sumi Cherian
KAS, Deputy Commissioner, State Goods and Services
Department, gave us a new sense of women empowerment
by talking about economic inclusion of women.
Being a Vet, she brought new insights into the role of Veterinarians to make women of farming community
financially stable by introducing technologically
innovative schemes. Dr. R Saira, Guest of Honour
presented an excellent session as a speaker. She
delivered great visuals and examples in her speech,
in addition to her own life experiences as a warrior.
KGVOA State President Dr. Dilip Chandran and General
Secretary Dr. Kuriakkose Mathew delivered felicitations.
Dr. Smitha L., District Secretary expressed vote of
thanks. In between the speeches, the Souvenir – ‘Jwala’ was
released by Honorable MLA. The apt name “Jwala” to
the souvenir is proposed by Dr. Rekha Sagar. During
the inaugural session, Honourable MLA also presented
the poem written by Dr. Binu M K about Dr. Saira R
to her. Chief guests were also gifted with momentos,
shawl and books as a token of respect and gratitude.
Photographs and videos of Lady Vets from different
districts were displayed on the LED wall during the
course of the event along with that of the chief guests.
Variety entertainments by the lady Vets were the
supreme attraction of the day. Scintillating dance
performances by Dr. Divya Chandran, Dr. Roon
Mariam and Dr. Sreekutty, mesmerizing Bihu dance by
Dr. Rekha, Dr. Sanuja, Dr. Ambily and Dr. Archana, Rocking
dance by Dr. Divya Chandran, Dr. Sajin , Dr. Chithra,
Dr. Aswini and Dr. Saranya were really a pleasant experience
for the audience. A visual treat presented by
Alleppey lady Vets, a skit unveiling the unsung saga
of lady Vet, named “Vettalu” was a pleasant surprise
that took everybody to the routine of a lady Vet in a
funny way.
The lunch included culinary delicacies of Pagoda
resorts which tasted yummy and amazing.
In between we could enjoy the captivating songs by
the vibrant singers Dr. Dhanya Pai, Dr. Swathy Soman
and Dr. Nimila. Programmes were scheduled in such a
way that time lag was negligible to finish the event in
time. Participants were really thrilled to get immersed in the DJ at the end.
